July 26, 2022 - San Jose, CA – Children’s Discovery Museum of San Jose teams up with the Palo Alto Humane Society (PAHS) for the 5th annual Animals Inspire Us! on Saturday, July 30. This educational event offers youngsters the opportunity to learn about animals and animal welfare by participating in furry fun, animal-themed activities during the morning and afternoon play sessions.

Magician Patrick Livingstone will dazzle and amaze with his “Animal Magic Tricks” show. Visitors can join the fun by making creature ears and decorating their arms, hands, and foreheads with images of their favorite critters. They’ll be a scavenger hunt and local animal-related resources. It’s going to be a dog-gone, purrfect day.

At the Museum:

  • Make creature ears or a wearable animal from pipe cleaners.
  • Enjoy a magic show by Patrick Livingstone at 11:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.
  • Paint arms, hands, and forehead with critter themes.
  • Go on a Discovery Duck scavenger hunt throughout the museum.
  • Watch “It’s a Dog’s Day,” an original PAHS film highlighting the care of dogs.
  • Create animal-inspired artwork in the Neiman Art Studio.
  • Enjoy the “Adoptables” art exhibition in the Tracey Heyman Wing of the museum’s art gallery.

Palo Alto Humane Society:

The Palo Alto Humane Society (PAHS) is a 501(c) 3 nonprofit, charitable, volunteer-supported organization. PAHS is one of the few humane societies nationwide with no animal shelter. Instead of managing animals inside a shelter, we work to keep animals out of the shelter through humane programs in intervention, advocacy, and education. For more than a century, our mission has been to alleviate the suffering of animals, increase public sensitivity to animal issues and elevate the status of animals in our society.

Palo Alto Humane Society is celebrating its 114th anniversary of serving the mid-Peninsula on behalf of animals.paloaltohumane.org
